The Mississippi Valley 24 Hour Challenge

    Join us at 6:30 AM, August 14, 2004 at the New Baden Village Park at the junction of  IL 160 and 161, just east of I-64, for your choice of a 12 or 24 hour challenge over flat, mostly low-traffic farm roads. The course consists of a 55 mile day loop, and a 12.21 mile night loop.

     The entry fee is $50 before July 31, 2004. After that time there will be a $30 late fee. Registration ends August 14 at 5:00 A.M. Personal Support Vehicles are encouraged, but not required, and there is no additional fee. P.S.V.s will be required to leap-frog on the day route, regardless of daylight. We will not allow anyone to start back on the day route after 3:00 P.M. P.S.V.s will not be allowed to impede traffic, PERIOD!! The Sheriff's Department will ticket any participant or P.S.V. violating traffic laws, which will also result in disqualification.

   There will be trophies awarded in each of eight age/gender categories, and one for the overall highest mileage. The MV24 is a non-drafting event.

The day loop is 55 miles, and is mostly flat. No one will be allowed to start back on the day route after 3:00 P.M. Saturday.

The night loop is 12.21 miles in length and travels on lightly used farm roads.
